There’s no doubt the weight loss jab has taken the world by storm. Touted as a game-changer, it promises results without the struggle. After all, it’s just a simple injection to reduce your appetite and shift those extra pounds.

And for many people, it does deliver - in the short term.

But what happens when the jabs stop?

Behind the headlines and hype lies a much more complex story. And it’s one I’m seeing unfold in real time with my clients.

A recent BBC News article highlights exactly what many of us in the wellbeing field have been concerned about:

People are losing weight while on the jab, only to gain it back once they stop.

Why? Because the injection doesn’t deal with the reasons people overeat in the first place. It doesn’t touch the emotional triggers, the stress-related eating, the long-standing habits, or the internal self-talk that shapes how we feel about our bodies and our food.

It simply turns down your hunger signals.

That can work short-term, but it doesn’t create real, lasting change. So as soon as you come off it, the old patterns - and the weight - often return.

I've been working with women going through this very cycle. They all thought the jab was the solution. And for a while, it worked. But once they stopped, they were left facing the same struggles as before – without the appetite suppressant to mask them.

What they really needed wasn’t a quick fix. They needed to understand the why behind their eating patterns. They needed to feel in control of their choices. They needed to rebuild their trust in themselves and their bodies.

So, what’s the solution?

The jab may be a useful tool for some. But it’s not a magic solution.

The real magic happens when we address the whole person - mind, body and emotions.

And that’s where the kind of support I offer can make all the difference.

With hypnotherapy and mind-body coaching, I work with clients to:

·       understand the triggers

·       build healthier habits

·       reframe unhelpful beliefs

·       strengthen their self-worth

·       develop tools for long-term change and maintenance

That way, when they stop the medication, they’re already equipped with the mindset, habits, and self-trust to maintain progress.

The jab might offer a shortcut. But healing your relationship with food is the real long-term solution.

And the good news?

This all works with or without the jab!

So, if you’re using the jab, or considering it, and want to feel more in control of your habits or your health, I’d love to support you.
