• Do you love yourself?
• Do you have difficult relationships?

 

All of life is relationships. We have relationships with everything and everyone who touches our lives in some way. 

 

The longest relationship you will ever have with anyone is the relationship with yourself. Looking for love outside of yourself means you’re missing out on the love and approval from the most important person in your life. 

 

Searching for love often results in co-dependent, ineffectual relationships. Searching for ‘the one’ is unlikely to attract the right partner. 

 

As Louise Hay says in her book, You Can Heal Your Life, “Love comes when we least expect it, when we are not looking for it. Hunting for love never brings the right partner. It only creates longing and unhappiness. Love is never outside ourselves; love is within us.”

 

It’s far better to be the sort of person you want to attract into your life – if you want someone to love you, love yourself first. 

 

Being happy without yearning for that love from someone else is much more likely to attract someone who will love you unconditionally. Isn’t that worth waiting for?

 

Our relationships are mirrors of ourselves. Sometimes it feels like ‘us and them’. 

If you have difficult relationships with others in your life, at work or at home, perhaps you could go within and ask yourself, “where am I like that?” or, “when do I do the same things?”
